You’re capable. Why does everyday life take this much effort?

You meet the deadline..but only after hours of avoidance and a final burst of panic. You create systems to stay organized, then stop using them. Small tasks become overwhelming. You may appear successful while privately struggling with exhaustion, inconsistency, forgetfulness, or shame.

Maybe you have wondered about ADHD for years. Maybe your difficulties have been attributed to anxiety, depression, trauma, or a lack of motivation. You might know that something is making life harder, but not understand exactly what it is.

You do not have to be failing to deserve answers.

Elevated Psychotherapy Services offers focused, fully virtual ADHD evaluations for adults. Evaluations are conducted by Ashley M. Allen, PsyD, MSCP, ABPP, a board-certified clinical psychologist who also has ADHD. Dr. Allen brings both clinical expertise and lived understanding to each evaluation, which includes a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, individualized recommendations, a full written report, and a feedback session.

More Than an Online ADHD Screening

An online questionnaire can tell you whether you endorse common ADHD symptoms. It cannot determine why those symptoms are happening.

Difficulty concentrating, procrastination, restlessness, forgetfulness, and emotional dysregulation can be related to ADHD, but they can also occur with anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar-spectrum conditions, sleep difficulties, substance use, medical conditions, or a combination of factors.

This evaluation looks at the full picture. The goal is not to confirm a diagnosis you already suspect. The goal is to provide a careful, evidence-based answer about what best explains your experiences and what may help.

A Focused Evaluation Without Unnecessary Testing

Many psychological evaluations include hours of cognitive or neuropsychological testing. That level of testing can be valuable when someone needs assessment of memory, intellectual functioning, learning, or other cognitive abilities, but it is not necessary for every adult seeking ADHD diagnostic clarification.

This focused evaluation examines:

  • Current ADHD symptoms
  • Evidence of symptoms across development
  • How symptoms affect work, education, relationships, daily responsibilities, and self-care
  • Mental health conditions that may resemble or occur alongside ADHD
  • Relevant medical, psychiatric, educational, and psychosocial history
  • Patterns of strengths, difficulties, and coping strategies

The evaluation does not include cognitive, intellectual, academic, or neuropsychological testing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need childhood or school records?

No. Records are strongly encouraged when available because ADHD symptoms must begin during childhood. However, many adults no longer have access to childhood documentation. When records are unavailable, the evaluation will include a detailed interview about your developmental history. Any limitations will be clearly explained in the report.

Is this the same as neuropsychological testing?

No. This is a focused psychological evaluation and does not include testing of intelligence, academic achievement, memory, or other cognitive abilities.

Can this evaluation diagnose autism or a learning disability?

No. Autism, learning-disability, intellectual, memory, and neurological evaluations require a different assessment process.

Will I definitely receive an ADHD diagnosis?

No. The purpose of the evaluation is diagnostic clarification, not confirmation of a predetermined diagnosis. The findings may support ADHD, identify another explanation, identify multiple contributing conditions, or indicate that additional assessment is needed. Regardless, you will get personalized recommendations to support the concerns addressed during the evaluation.

Can I use the report to discuss medication?

Yes. Your report can be shared with your physician or psychiatric provider with your written authorization. The prescribing provider will make an independent decision about whether medication is appropriate.

Can I use the report to request accommodations?

You may submit the report when requesting workplace or educational accommodations. However, approval cannot be guaranteed. Some institutions, licensing boards, and testing organizations require cognitive or academic testing that is not included in this evaluation. You should review the organization’s documentation requirements before scheduling.

Is the evaluation covered by insurance?

This is a self-pay service. A superbill may be provided upon request, but out-of-network reimbursement is not guaranteed.

Where can I complete the evaluation?

The evaluation is conducted entirely through secure telehealth. You must be physically located in a state or jurisdiction where Dr. Allen is authorized to practice at the time of the evaluation.
